DRONE PILOT OPERATION
Aerocameras, Marina Davila Sport, Joaquin Davila, Hoegh Autoliners
Drones, apart from being a future delivery system and apt for all kinds of jobs, are already here to stay. Their technology can serve the Logistics in different areas; we just played a role in a pilot operation that demonstrated that you can deliver documentation, or other materials up to 5 kilos, without the need to stop the ship, and at a considerable distance from land, in this case, more than 3 kilometers.
The operation involved Aerocámaras, a leading company in the drone sector in Spain, Joaquin Davila Y Cía, consignee of the ship, Marina Davila Sport, and the ship Höegh Yokohama from the shipping company Höegh Autoliners . The operation was carried out in the port of Vigo, with a 5 kilo load, and an execution time of 12 minutes from takeoff to reaching the ship. The operation was a complete success.
These trials precede planned operational trials with loads of up to 200 kilos. At Marina Davila Sport we are always at the forefront in the use of technology.
